| 1. | Southeast From Seattle | Play | Southeast From Seattle
She’s driving southeast from Seattle
Leaving the Puget Sound Some might say it’s way out west But it ain’t no western town She’s tired of the attitude Where love is a business deal Working romance out on a balance sheet Has lost all of it’s appeal (Chorus) She wants to make a life Where a man still tips his hat And opens a lady’s door Where nice boys walk good girls to school And know what a kiss is for Where a hand shake still means something People mean what they say That way of life may be barely breathing But it can’t be dead She’s pushing hard to make the great divide Before the sun goes down When she sees the peaks of the rockies Well she’ll turn that dually south The salvation of her spirit She’s come to realize Won’t be found in the arms of another man But in making a new way of life (Chorus) She wants to make a life Where a man still tips his hat And opens a lady’s door Where nice boys walk good girls to school And know what a kiss is for Where a hand shake still means something People mean what they say That way of life may be barely breathing (Instrumental break) (Chorus) She wants to make a life Where a man still tips his hat And opens a lady’s door Where nice boys walk good girls to school And know what a kiss is for Where a hand shake still means something People mean what they say That way of life may be barely breathing But it can’t be dead She’s driving southeast from Seattle Leaving the Puget Sound Some might say it’s way out west But it ain’t no western town |

The story within this song comes from a number of influences not the least of which was a major move by my sisters from Seattle to Texas. This song is a bit of a lament for the loss of a simpler way of life.
Don't really know if it's findable or not, but I keep looking. |

If I had a million dollars
I’d give half of it away Wouldn’t be the richest girl But hey, that’d be okay Cruisin’ with the top down in a snow storm Just having fun Let the wind blow through my hair Bet I’d be the only one (Chorus) People say hold on Lets think about it Someday will be here soon Why don’t we wait So they scratch their heads And bite their tongues But by the time their done I’ll be out the gate ‘Cause tomorrow will be to late Get crazy take a slip n slide Down to the Whitehouse lawn Maybe invite the president To come slide along Headlines, reporters, CNN, world news tonight There goes my fifteen minutes of fame But hey that’s alright Yah, that’s al right (Chorus) People say hold on Lets think about it Someday will be here soon Why don’t we wait So they scratch their heads And bite their tongues But by the time their done I’ll be out the gate ‘cause tomorrow will be to late (Bridge) Tick tock the clock won’t stop Gotta run before the day is done Singing in the rain, sipping on champagne But I gotta do it now (Chorus) People say hold on Lets think about it Someday will be here soon Why don’t we wait So they scratch their heads And bite their tongues But by the time their done I’ll be out the gate |

I really like this song and get a kick out of performing it. JP and I were talking about how people say, someday I'm gonna do this or that, and how sad it is to look back at life and see that you missed out on doing even some of the simple things that could have been really fun. I actually have driven in a snow storm with the top down,(well not a storm exactly but snow was falling). At the time we were having this discussion my children were playing on their slip and slide in the front yard and my husband was returning from his daily run, without changing stride he hit that slip and slide sending the kids into squeals of laughter and joy. It is these kinds memories that make this song so dear to me. |

Introspective compilation of the journey that was the creation of Crossroad. This is a beautiful clip that JP Goggin created originally as an intro to Sad Song. Upon completion when I heard it, it was so much more to me. My daughter summed it up when she said "It's your life. All the times you climbed behind the wheel when we moved, the first thing you did was find a radio station to sing to. After all the travels, trials, and tears, you finally have this cd." In many ways Crossroad defines my past. |

I need to hear a song
That can make me cry I need to hear a song That can touch this heart of mine I need a brand new melody To help me shed some tears For all the little heartaches And all my wasted years Sad song Someone play a sad song That will help me face this pain I’ve locked away his memory He won’t be back again It’s time to let my heart break Let the music carry me If I never face the way he left I never will be free Sad song Sad slow song I’ve lived with only fast songs Singing every live I danced alone, I danced all night Looking for a sign I was hoping love would save us Still believing in his lies So I turned the music way up loud And found a place to hide Sad song Sad sad song Won’t you please play me A sad slow song Sad sad song Sad slow song Won’t you please play me A sad slow song (instrumental break) So come on and play a slow song But just don’t be alarmed If you see me crying It’s not doing any harm It’s time to let the pain go Let the music wash me clean Oh I can face the days ahead Just play it slow for me Sad song Sad sad song Won’t you please play me A sad slow song |

I had the lyrics and thoughts for the melody to 'Sad Song' when JP and I met. Of course JP did alot of refining on it and created an awesome arrangement. It's my son's favorite off of 'Crossroad". He even has it on his MySpace. Yeah, I'm a cool Mom. |

| 5. | No Man Should Ever Do | Play | No Man Should Ever Do
You didn’t say a word, when I told you,
I was leaving When what I wanted was one word, To help me, change my mind All you could do, was stand and stare, As all your pain it came to bare, You did the one thing, I thought I’d never see. (CHORUS) You cried, Oh you cried, Like you said no man should ever do You cried, oh you cried, And I saw, I broke your heart in two, As you cried, As you cried. You’ve always been so strong, Your love, I’ve always leaned on. But where was I for you, When your troubles came along, All I could do was stand and stare, As all my shame it came to bare, You did the one thing, I thought I’d never see. (CHORUS) You cried, Oh you cried, Like you said no man should ever do You cried, oh you cried, And I saw, I broke your heart in two, As you cried, As you cried. (Bridge) How could I have been so blind, To cause you so much pain, Was I always the one, The one I should have blamed, When you cried (instrumental break) You cried, oh you cried, Like you said no man should ever do, You cried, oh you cried, And I saw I broke your heart in two. As you cried As you cried |

This song was written after witnessing people that I knew walk away from a marriage because their spouse wasn't making them happy. Only to realize after it was too late that, the only person that is truly responsible for our own inner happiness is ourselves. It is easy to love someone when life is wonderful but love is wonderful when you can love someone when life is tough. |

| 6. | Road To Paradise | Play | Road To Paradise
Sun glasses dark
And the wind through my hair Cruisin in my ragtop Down this road to some where All these miles don’t trouble me I’ll bet it all for the prize With lucky seven or twenty-one Reflected in my eyes (Chorus) Looking for a place to play Where the rules from day to day Are just a role of the dice If your still in the game On the road to paradise On the road to paradise On the road to paradise I want to tame this blackjack heart Beneath the desert sky When lady luck begins to burn A streak like fire on the rise The city whispers the house must win In neon lights like a love inshrined But I can beat any dealers hand With just one of a kind (Chorus) Looking for a place to play Where the rules from day to day Are just a role of the dice If your still in the game On the road to paradise On the road to paradise On the road to paradise La la la la la la reat (Chorus) Looking for a place to play Where the rules from day to day Are just a role of the dice If your still in the game On the road to paradise On the road to paradise On the road to paradise La la la la la la La la la la la Sun glasses dark And the wind through my hair On this road to paradise |

I love the lala's in this song. JP's guitar in the break is my favorite part. It's definitely a put the top down and cruise kinda tune. |

| 7. | Far Away | Play | Far Away
I know you think that it’s me who’s changed
I guess in one way that’s true I just can’t get involved in you anymore The lies you tell just won’t do (chorus) ‘Cause you’ll never stop the games you play As long as someone’s there to blame Separation is the only way To make you see that you must change You’re so far away far away far away, yah A bigger house a bigger car a bigger life Is money the only thing that matters Cold hard cash really makes a rosy world When those you love begin to scatter (chorus) But you’ll never stop the games you play As long as someone’s there to blame Separation is the only way To make you see that you must change You’re so far away far away far away, yah (bridge) Maybe one day some years from now You’ll finally see where your life has gone I’ll have peace and you’ll be alone Then you’ll see where we went wrong Where has she gone (instrumental) (chorus) But you’ll never stop the games you play As long as someone’s there to blame Separation is the only way To make you see that you must change You’re so far away far away far away, yah You’re so far away far away far away far away far away |

JP had this rocking arrangement when I should up to finish up recording 'Crossroad'. He said he didn't know what he was going to do with it but it was called 'Far Away'. I asked why I couldn't have it. He thought it was a little bit outside the box of what I was interested in recording. BUT, if I really wanted it go write it.
I had the basics of the song finished that day and after going over it with JP for polish. We recorded it the next day. There are people in your life that you love and will always love. Unfortunately, you gotta love them from a distance, well from Far Away. |
